We are part of a place-based giving movement that is taking hold across London and is mobilising communities at a grassroots level to act to strengthen their boroughs. What is Haringey Giving? Expand We are an independent partnership led by local residents, which works closely with community organisations, local businesses and funders across Haringey. We convene and deliver funding and resources from philanthropists, companies and public sector bodies to increase opportunity and wellbeing in Haringey, by enabling residents to act on issues that matter to them. We provide small grants for projects that meet a need identified in the borough by those who know Haringey best – its people and the community organisations working here. Our key priorities are: Opening up opportunities for young people Improving wellbeing and helping people to thrive Building confidence and skills for better jobs and successful enterprises. We are responsive to emerging needs and release funds quickly to successful applicants. We do this through: Generating funds and in-kind resources Enabling people to give their time and skills Crafting mechanisms for agile, responsive and effective grant making Convening and Capacity building
Who funds Haringey Giving? Expand Haringey Giving are grateful to our funders, who help cover the costs for us to set up Haringey Giving and to enable local people and communities to take action on the things that matter to them.
Is Haringey Giving a registered Charity? Expand Haringey Giving is not a registered Charity in its own right, but is a subsidiary of the Bridge Renewal Trust, a Registered Charity and commissioned by Haringey Council as the strategic partner providing support to Haringey's voluntary and community sector.
Can I use this website to raise funding for a local project? Expand The Haringey Giving website is designed to enable people to give their time, talents and funding to enable local people to take action and make improvements on the things that matter to them. It is also set up to enable individuals and community organisations raise funds for not-for-profit activities and projects.
How can I volunteer? Expand Haringey Giving believes everyone has something to give, and we can all play a part. We encourage volunteers from all walks of life, and you can find out more about current opportunities here. How are funds used? Expand Your donations are used to support the vital work of Haringey Giving to enable local people and communities to take action on causes that matter to them. What is Gift Aid? Expand Gift Aid is a scheme available to charities that enables us to claim extra money from HMRC. For eligible gifts Haringey Giving can claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated. In order to qualify you must pay the basic rate of tax and make the donation from your own funds. This means Haringey Giving is able to increase the value of your donations by 25% by claiming gift aid at no further cost to you.
