Our Together We Can grants support individuals to come together and take action on the things that matter to them within their community.

At the end of last year, we received funding from LHC Community Benefit Fund to enable us to pilot the Together We Can programme. Grants from LHC Community Benefit Fund go to projects that support strong and sustainable neighbourhoods, contribute towards one or more of the Borough priorities for their communities and are innovative or clearly demonstrate positive social impact.

Through the grant from LHC, we are funding two organisations - RISE Projects and Wise Thoughts - to deliver the first Together We Can pilot projects. They are focused on children and young people and community safety in the Wood Green area.

RISE Projects is a local community empowerment and skills development organisation that aims to empower residents of Haringey to realise their potential and create a society where people have active agency in improving their life outcomes.

The organisation has been awarded £5,000 for a project that will bring together people living in Turnpike Lane and Wood Green to reduce incidences of knife crime and create safer communities. It will run activities that prevent and deter young people from becoming involved in crime and support them to achieve their goals and ambitions. It will also bring people together to discuss issues of concern and use community-based knowledge to share information and advice.
