Does Haringey station have barriers?

Expand

No, Harringay Green Lanes railway station does not have ticket barriers. It is an unbarriered station.

This means passengers can access the platforms without passing through any gates or barriers. However, there are Oyster card validators available at the station for touch-in and touch-out purposes.

It's important to note that while the station lacks physical barriers, passengers are still required to have a valid ticket or Oyster card and must touch in and out to ensure proper fare payment.

In contrast, Harringay railway station (on the East Coast Main Line) is also unbarriered, with no ticket gates or barriers. Similar to Harringay Green Lanes, passengers are expected to have a valid ticket and may use Oyster card validators if available.

Is Haringey a county?

Expand

No — Haringey is not a county.

It’s a London borough, which means it’s one of the 32 local government districts that make up Greater London.

Here’s how it fits into the UK’s administrative structure:

  • Country: England
  • Region: Greater London
  • London Borough: Haringey

So Haringey is governed by Haringey Council, not by a county council. Historically, before Greater London was created in 1965, the area now known as Haringey was part of Middlesex county, but that county no longer exists as an administrative area.
