Individual Giving Consultancy (P/T 2 days, flexible, 1 year) 

Haringey Giving is an independent local partnership who work closely with organisations, businesses, funders and communities to support good causes in Haringey. We raise funds, give out grants and encourage people to volunteer their time to enable people in Haringey to take action on the things that matter to them. 

We are a relatively new initiative and are making a big impact across Haringey and need to build on our existing individual donor base, increasing regular giving and segmenting our approach and stewardship of different kinds of donors, including high-net-worth individuals. 

We are recruiting for an Individual Giving Consultant who can build relationships with new and existing donors and fundraisers to maximise income for Haringey Giving. You will have expertise in income generation and will contribute to the development of creative campaigns to broaden and develop donor relationships of Haringey Giving.   

The role 

Could you use your individual donor fundraising skills to raise money to help people and communities who are facing some of the toughest challenges in the UK?  You’ll be confident in raising funds across multiple channels, as well as the administration and stewardship required to ensure engaging supporter journeys and regular giving.

You’ll be ready to build relationships with new and existing donors to support Haringey Giving’s core activities, to upscale our impacts. Operating within a flexible working culture, with potential for remote working, you will take the lead on our individual giving programme and donor journey and grow income from across the individual donor base. 

You will be results driven and enjoy analysing your fundraising campaigns to ensure maximum success for the next. You'll be a warm and positive person who leads by example and brings the best out in others and will work within a small specialist fundraising team.

What will you be doing? 

You will be responsible for recruitment and stewardship of supporters, ensuring an excellent donor experience, and maximising retention to support Haringey Giving’s activities. You will: 

  • Contribute to the development of effective fundraising campaigns and events. 
  • Work towards specific income targets, create and develop regular giving and donor retention campaigns; you’ll analyse and profile donors to inform future activity 
  • Lead acquisition campaigns including direct mail and online appeals, face-to-face recruitment and regular giving, and provide ongoing stewardship communications. 
  • Oversee the activity calendar of individual supporter communications both on and offline 
  • Collaborate with the team to optimise lifetime value from potential and current supporters.  
  • Ensure all donors are kept up to date with relevant news and project updates 
  • Feel confident gathering and utilising data and insights for donor recruitment and retention. 
  • Assist the Director of Haringey Giving to develop an individual giving strategy which enables Haringey Giving to meet our strategic objectives.  

What experience will you need? 

Essential: 

  • A proven track record of donor recruitment and stewardship, and significant income generation 
  • A strong understanding of the latest digital trends and demonstrate creative and technical skills to deliver a successful digital fundraising strategy 
  • Experience of campaign analysis and testing methods, reporting successes & learnings 
  • Audience segmentation, income recording, tracking, reporting and communication 
  • Excellent copy writing skills, providing relevant information and support to donors including the mailing of materials and resources 
  • Ability to gather and interpret data and intelligence of what motivates donors to give and to apply this to the role 
  • Excellent organisational skills, record-keeping, reporting and systems 
  • Strong IT and use Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint 
  • Educated to A-level or equivalent, with great communication and interpersonal skills. 

Desirable 

  • Experience across the individual giving spectrum, including digital fundraising  
  • Demonstrable rapport-building with high-net-worth individuals 
  • Experience of successful donor event management 
  • Experience of using a client relationship management system or similar 
  • Relevant experience or qualifications in fundraising, sales, customer care or marketing.

Remuneration 

Remuneration for this part-time, 2 days per week 1-year contract will be £29,235 per annum (pro rata). The number of hours worked per week is flexible within the 1-year contract, subject to successful achievement of the role outcomes. We are also open to contracting this role on a freelance basis with an individual who his self-employed. Corporate Engagement Consultancy (P/T 2 days, 1 year)

We are a relatively new initiative and are making a big impact across Haringey and need a talented individual to help us develop our corporate donor base, increasing corporate and employee giving. 

We are recruiting for a Corporate Engagement Consultant who can build relationships with new and existing corporate supporters to maximise income for Haringey Giving and help support vital work to meet the needs of disadvantaged people and communities in Haringey. You will identify and pursue opportunities to broaden relationships and contribute to the development of Haringey Giving.   

The role 

Could you use your corporate fundraising skills to raise money and in-kind resources to help people and communities who are facing some of the toughest challenges in the UK? We're looking for a Corporate Engagement Consultant to join a small, agile and high-performing team. Operating within a flexible working culture, with potential for remote working, you’ll take the lead in nurturing and growing a corporate pipeline, with a mix of new and existing account management. 

You'll be confident in seizing and maximising opportunities, developing new ways to increase supporter engagement and conversion, researching potential new partners and developing the pipeline of relevant companies. You’ll draw on your expertise to raise financial and in-kind donations to support Haringey Giving’s core activities, to upscale its impacts. You’ll be ready to follow up on warm leads from Haringey Giving’s corporate partner relationships, associated networks and supply chains. 

You'll be a warm and positive person who leads by example and brings the best out in others and will work within a small specialist fundraising team. You’ll be a polished presenter able to prepare engaging and persuasive pitches to potential corporate partners. 

Ideally, you're experienced across the corporate fundraising spectrum, event sponsorship and the creation of bespoke CSR opportunities. We would also be open to candidates from the commercial sector with an understanding of the CSR landscape, looking to move into the charity sector.

What will you be doing? 

Your initial focus will be corporates in the Information Technology Sector and small to medium sized enterprises to support Haringey Giving’s activities. You will: 

  • Co-develop imaginative and compelling proposals and packages for corporate partners 
  • Arrange meetings with corporates, prepare presentations and pitches, build relationships at senior level 
  • Build Haringey Giving’s corporate fundraising partnerships, secure and expand corporate funding for key projects such as Haringey Giving Week and the Haringey Digital Divide Appeal. 
  • Account manage corporate partners, ensuring excellent stewardship 
  • Achieve ambitious targets on income generation to support core costs 
  • Handle administration including partnership agreements, invoicing, reporting, thanking corporate donors and record-keeping on the Haringey Giving database. 
  • Assist the Director of Haringey Giving to develop a corporate giving strategy which enables Haringey Giving to meet its strategic objectives.  

What experience will you need? 

Essential: 

  • Proven experience of generating new corporate partnerships, completer-finisher skills to ‘close’ the deal, and the confidence to meet targets 
  • Demonstrable rapport-building and articulate and persuasive communication skills including preparing and presenting pitches at senior level 
  • A demonstrable history of converting new/cold leads to income regularly 
  • Can liaise with industries you have never worked in before 
  • Excellent project management, record-keeping, reporting and stewardship skills and systems 
  • Educated to A-level or equivalent, the successful applicant will have great communication skills and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong IT and use Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. 

Desirable 

  • Experience of working collaboratively to develop imaginative and compelling proposals 
  • Demonstrable experience in researching corporate prospects, developing relationships and account management 
  • Experience of using a client relationship management system or similar

Research Consultant (Nov 2021 - 14 Jan 2022, flexible) 

Givings Together is a collaboration of six local place-based giving schemes, led by Haringey Giving. It has been awarded a grant from The Cornerstone Fund to help address structural discrimination in accessing funding and support for diverse communities in London. The Partners include Barking & Dagenham Giving, Camden Giving, Haringey Giving, Harrow Giving, Merton Giving and The Kensington & Chelsea Foundation.

Under the ‘Givings Together’ name, we are exploring participatory approaches and methods to grant funding and decision making, to support marginalised groups and communities build their leadership skills and remove barriers to accessing grants and other support.

The participatory approaches we identify and develop have the potential to be replicated and scaled among the wider London place-based giving scheme network, as well as other grant makers aiming to devolve more power to communities and embrace participatory ways of working.

The role

We are seeking a research consultant to map existing examples of participatory approaches to grant-making and produce recommendations. This will help us to develop an evidence base as well as form an initial baseline.

The role will involve desk-based research to:

  • Map participatory approaches already adopted by Place Based Giving Schemes (PBGSs) in London and other parts of the UK and by a range of funders in London. This includes their:
    • Impact
    • Successes
    • Key challenges and opportunities
    • Learnings
  • Identify where there are gaps in the evidence
  • Identify key funders of participatory grant-making, and those with potential to support
  • Identify any barriers for funders in taking forward participatory approaches
  • Collate and analyse the findings
  • Draw out key conclusions
  • Make any recommendations emerging from the research for the Partnership to consider as it develops its own approaches to participatory grant-making.
  • Submit a final report that incorporates all of the areas listed above.

Person specification

We are looking for someone with:

  • Keen research skills
  • An ability to collate and analyse qualitative and quantitative data
  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.

An interest in and experience of participatory ways of working with communities and in particular participatory grantmaking would also be desirable.

The total fee available is £2,500.
