Haringey Giving is an independent partnership led by local residents which works closely with community organisations, local businesses and funders across Haringey.

We are making a difference to the lives of residents and supporting our community organisations. We raise funds and resources to invest in our borough and encourage others to volunteer their time. We are making a difference to the lives of people in Haringey and supporting our community organisations. We are passionate about people and our highly diverse and vibrant and communities. We build on people's strengths to enable them to tackle issues at their roots, and we are informed by local insight, research, listening and learning.

We are a new and relatively small giving scheme, who are punching above our weight. We are ambitious and have new resources in place to support our next stage of development.

Our local priorities

  • Children and Young People, with reference to gun and knife crime.

  • Mental Health, including social isolation.

  • Skills and Enterprise, with reference to refugees and migrants.

Collaborative working

Haringey Giving works proactively and in partnership with businesses, large corporates and funders to increase resources available to communities in Haringey. We bring together stakeholders and partners alongside communities to develop joined up approaches to resource distribution in the borough.

Investing in our local communities

We create and deliver light-touch, agile and accessible grant making and distribute in-kind resources via community partners, in line with our priorities. Our two grant programmes are:

  • Changing Lives - micro-grants up to £500 which enable an individual to take a step or make a change or transition that will improve their life. Read more
  • Together We Can - small grants up to £10,000 for up to two years, enabling people to come together and take action on a shared issue or challenge. We prioritise in informal groups who may find it difficult to access mainstream funding. Read more

In addition to our core grant programmes, we deliver funding to communities in Haringey on behalf of other funders, corporate partners and public bodies.

“Haringey Giving is an amazing asset to the Haringey community, they take the time to identify what the local community need and seem to be able to seek out the right community group/partners that can offer support.”

Corporate volunteering

We work with corporates to build the capacity of communities in Haringey, identifying and developing skilled corporate volunteering opportunities, increasing the resilience and sustainability of local community organisations. We are currently piloting our first initiative in collaboration with Volunteer Centre Haringey.

Our convening role

In addition to our core activities, Haringey Giving has a convening role around our priorities, bringing together communities and stakeholders across sectors to tackle underlying issues and make more effective use of resources locally.
